Butaque CHAIR in maple with tan cowhide for the MoMA STORE
CLARA PORSET
Clara Porset has become synonymous with her reimagining of the classic Latin American Butaque chair.
Through her eyes, the low-slung, X-frame shaped chair features a more curved, ergonomic shape, which she enhanced further by teaming it with rich, natural materials like maple, wicker and leather in many different iterations.
Our version here is based on the designs that Porset originally created for the legendary architect Luis Barragán.
We are currently celebrating the MoMA museum exhibit in New York City called “Crafting Modernity: Design in Latin America, 1940–1980” curated by the inspiring Ana Elena Mallet from March to September 2024.
For the US, please order it in stock or short lead time on MoMA Store.
